Simple Chain Grammars and Languages
نویسنده
چکیده
A subclass of the LR(O)-grammars, the class of simple chain grammars is introduced. Although there exist simpio chain grammars which are not LL(k) for any k > 0, this new class of grammars is very closely related to the LL(1) and simple LL(1) grammars. In fact it can be shown that every simple chain grammar has an equivalent simple LL(1) grammar. Cover properties for simple chain grammars are investigated and a deterministic pushdown transducer which acts as a right parser for simple chain grammars is presented.

Ch(k) Grammars: A Characterization of LL(k) Languages
From the point of view of parsing the LL(K] grammars constitute a very attractive class of context-free grammars. For each LL{K] grammar a top-down parsing algorithm can be devised which is essentially a one-state deterministic push-down automaton. From a more theoretiG point of view LL[K) grammars are attractive as well. It is well-known, for example, that it is decidable whether two LLfk) gra...
متن کاملAlternating Regular Tree Grammars in the Framework of Lattice-Valued Logic
In this paper, two different ways of introducing alternation for lattice-valued (referred to as {L}valued) regular tree grammars and {L}valued top-down tree automata are compared. One is the way which defines the alternating regular tree grammar, i.e., alternation is governed by the non-terminals of the grammar and the other is the way which combines state with alternation. The first way is ta...
متن کاملSome Remarks on the Generative Power of Collage Grammars and Chain-Code Grammars
Collage grammars and context-free chain-code grammars are compared with respect to their generative power. It is shown that the generated classes of line-drawing languages are incomparable, but that chain-code grammars can simulate collage grammars that use only similarity transformations.
متن کاملSimple Semi-conditional Et0l Grammars
The present contribution introduces and studies simple semi-conditional ET0L grammars (SSC-ET0L grammars for short). It is demonstrated that SSC-ET0L grammars with permitting and forbidding conditions of length no more than one and two, respectively, generate all the family of recursively enumerable languages; if erasing productions are not allowed, these grammars generate precisely the family ...
